Chemours Freon R134a

Chemours Freon™ R-134a is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant widely used in automotive air conditioning and a broad range of commercial and light industrial refrigeration equipment. It is non-ozone-depleting and has long served as the standard replacement for the CFC and HCFC refrigerants it succeeded.

Environmental & Handling Notes
R-134a has zero ozone-depletion potential but a comparatively high global warming potential, and is being phased down in many markets under HFC-reduction regulations (e.g., the Kigali Amendment). Lower-GWP HFO-based alternatives such as Opteon™ XP10 (R-513A) and Opteon™ YF (R-1234yf) are increasingly used as long-term replacements.
