Chemours Freon R404A

Chemours Freon™ R-404A is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant blend widely used in commercial and industrial refrigeration, including supermarket display cases, cold storage, and transport refrigeration. It has long served as the standard replacement for older R-502 and R-22 systems.

Environmental & Handling Notes
R-404A has a high global warming potential relative to newer refrigerants and is being phased down under HFC-reduction regulations in many markets. Lower-GWP HFC/HFO alternatives such as Opteon™ XP40 (R-449A) and Opteon™ XP44 (R-452A) are commonly used as retrofit or new-equipment replacements.
