Opteon™ YF (R-1234yf)

Opteon™ YF (R-1234yf) is a non-ozone-depleting hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerant developed to meet the EU Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) Directive, which requires new vehicles to use a refrigerant with a global warming potential (GWP) below 150. It has since become the standard OEM refrigerant across most automotive manufacturers worldwide, offering cooling performance and operating characteristics similar to R-134a, the refrigerant it replaces.

Environmental & Handling Notes

Its A2L classification means it is mildly flammable — handle, store, and service in line with applicable local safety codes.
