Opteon™ XP40 R449A

Opteon™ XP40 (R-449A) is a non-ozone-depleting, lower-GWP hydrofluorocarbon/hydrofluoroolefin (HFC/HFO) blend developed as a high-performance replacement for R-404A, R-507, R-22, and R-407A in low- and medium-temperature refrigeration systems. It has become a widely adopted retrofit and new-equipment refrigerant across commercial refrigeration.

Environmental & Handling Notes
Opteon™ XP40 offers a GWP roughly 67% lower than R-404A/R-507, 33% lower than R-407A, and 30% lower than R-22, along with 8–12% better energy efficiency than R-404A/R-507. Retrofits typically require no changes to equipment, lubricants, or seals, and it can be topped off after leak repair. It is nonflammable (A1).
