Opteon™ XP44 R452A

Opteon™ XP44 (R-452A) is a non-ozone-depleting, lower-GWP hydrofluorocarbon/hydrofluoroolefin (HFC/HFO) blend developed as a replacement for R-404A and R-507 in commercial and transport refrigeration. It can be used in new equipment or to retrofit existing systems, with a compressor discharge temperature and mass flow rate similar to R-404A/R-507.

ASHRAE Designation: R-452A — ASHRAE Safety Classification: A1 (nonflammable, lower toxicity)

• Low- and medium-temperature transport refrigeration (refrigerated trucks, vans, and reefer containers)
• Low- and medium-temperature commercial and industrial DX refrigeration
• Direct-expansion (DX) chillers

Environmental & Handling Notes
Opteon™ XP44 offers a GWP roughly 45% lower than R-404A/R-507, is compatible with existing equipment designs and lubricants, and can be topped off after leak repair without TXV adjustment. It is nonflammable (A1).
