Opteon™ XL40 R454A

Opteon™ XL40 (R-454A) is a non-ozone-depleting, low-GWP hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) based refrigerant designed as a direct replacement for R-22 and R-404A in industrial and commercial refrigeration systems, offering improved capacity and energy efficiency over the refrigerants it replaces.

Opteon™ XL40 has a GWP of 238 — a 94% reduction versus R-404A — with zero ozone depletion potential. It is miscible with POE lubricants and can be topped off after leak repair. As an A2L refrigerant it is mildly flammable; follow local codes for charge limits and safe handling.
